The young actor stole the show in the Netflix movie The Adam Project, where he played the young Ryan Reynolds and left everyone impressed. The writer of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Rick Riordan, in a blog post, said, "It was obvious to me and the rest of the team that Walker had the perfect mix of comedic timing, sweetness, rebelliousness, snark, and heroism to embody our hero Percy Jackson". The 13-year-old Scobell will be playing a 12-year-old Percy Jackson in the new series.
