If you don’t want to take a bath, a sponges bath is a great option. To lower your body’s temperature, a sponge bath is a great way to cool down your fever. You can also use a moist cloth to wipe the sweat areas and the back of your neck.

Dr. Karambir Rana, MBBS, Dwarka Sector 23 says, “This is a common problem in today’s season for kids and adults. Severalpeople are suffering from this problem. If your kid is also suffering from this fever, you can give them a sponge bath. Some parents asked about the effects of sponge baths in the cold and cough. So, I advise you to give a sponge bath to your kid because it is important to lower the temperature of the body. Same applies to adults, it's important to stay hydrated and take a healthy diet”.

Take bath

Having a shower in a little warm water is an excellent way to reduce body heat. Do not attempt to reduce your temperature by bathing in cool water. Rather than calming down, bathing in icy water makes your more warm from within.

Ginger tea

Once you have a temperature, drinking a big mug of 'Aadrak wali chai' is very helpful. Drink 2-3 cups of ginger tea because ginger is used in many cough syrup and other ayurvedic medicines. After that, filter it and consume it.

Spicy food

If you are suffering from fever, spicy food is very effective. As a result, you should consider adding pepper in your meals. Capsaicin, the component present in pepper and chilies, causes people to sweat and promotes fast blood circulation. And as a result this leads to lower down fever.

Hydration

Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. Intake lots of liquid such as fresh juices, coconut water, Glucon-D, and fruits which contain more liquid. Also, drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water every day. This will compensate for the body's loss of fluid and minerals.

Get plenty of rest

Rest as much as you can. A viral fever indicates that our body is fighting an infectious disease. Relax as much as possible to allow your body to regain its energy. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep.

Stay in cool environment

Try to stay in a cool environment to keep yourself cool and relax. Staying in a cool environment will lower down your fever but remember don’t make your room too cool. Because it can also make your situation worse and can lead to problems such as headache, sneezing, and cold.
