Floretin Pogba signs a two-year contract with ATK Mohun Bagan for HERO-ISL

Florentin Pogba, 31, the elder brother of French Football star Paul Pogba has signed a two-year contract with ATK Mohun Bagan for HERO-ISL. Indian Super League (ISL) giants ATK Mohun Bagan have boosted their defence by signing Florentin Pogba, on a two-year contract. The Guinean, who was a crucial defender was playing in the French Ligue 2 for FC Sochaux-Montbeliard.

ATK Mohun Bagan also tweeted to celebrate this amazing signing by sharing Paul Pogba's tweet where he congratulated his brother for this shape-shifting decision. Floretin has taken the task of leading the three-time winning team to more titles and trophies.

"One year from the end of his contract, the Guinean International desired to find out a brand new championship and has been transferred to ATK Mohun Bagan FC, which performs inside the Indian championship," stated Sochaux-Montbéliard in a release.

"This is a new opportunity for me,” Florentin Pogba said. “It will give me a chance to know the country, new championships and many clubs. I am able to enter the field with a club rich in tradition. It's huge to me.”

The 6-foot 4-inch defender also has the experience of playing for the junior French national team before moving to Guinea to play at the senior level. Florentin Pogba has 31 international caps for Guinea after making his debut in 2010.

This is the second major signing for ATKMB beforehand of the AFC Cup 2022 inter-zone play-off semi-finals in September.

On June 23, 2022, ATK Mohun Bagan introduced the signing of 29-year-old central defender Brendan Hamill, who performed for Australian A-League side Melbourne Victory, on a two-year deal. Indian midfielder Ashique Kuruniyan from Bengaluru FC additionally signed up for ATK Mohun Bagan on a five-year deal in advance this month.
