Delhi: The dates for Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) 2022 elections have been announced. It has been announced that the MCD elections 2022 are to be held on December 4, 2022 and the counting of votes is to be done on December 7, 2022. Delhi State Election Commissioner, Vijay Dev said that the issue of notification will be on 7 November and will end on 14 November. The last date of withdrawal of candidature is 19 November. Voting for the polls will be on 4 December and the results will be announced on 7 December.
State Election Commissioner also announced that 50% of the seats have been reserved by women candidates. Now that the Delhi civic polls have been announced, the Model Code of Conduct also comes into force in Delhi from Friday itself.
“We completed the delimitation process in Delhi. Polling stations were redrawn. Now we are prepared for 250 wards in Delhi. The municipal corporation of Delhi has jurisdiction in 68 constituencies. 42 seats reserved for SCs," said SEC Vijay Dev in a statement.
