Lift Failure Incident:10-Year-Old Boy Rescued After 30 Mins in Greater Noida

Another lift failure incident has been reported from the Shivalik Homes Housing Society in Greater Noida, as a 10-year-old boy, Darsh Jaiswal, got stuck in the lift for about 30 minutes when he was returning home from school.

The child's mother has made very serious allegations against the builder and the maintenance department, stating the child got anxious and kept crying till rescued.

Mother of Darsh, Rajkumari Jaiswal, who lives with her entire family in D Tower of Shivalik Homes Housing Society, said that Darsh came back from school at around 2:30 pm and used the lift. However, the lift suddenly stopped midway. His son pressed the emergency button several times, but no one heard.

The victim's mother said that in these 30 minutes, her son's condition worsened. He started screaming and shouting for help. After that, the maintenance department team reached the spot. Somehow Darsh was rescued by the society members.

She also said that on Monday morning, she along with five people, got stuck in the lift for about 10 minutes. It was later the maintenance department team took them out. She alleges that every day someone or the other gets stuck in one or the other lift of society, but the builder is not concerned about the lives of the residents.

Devendra Patil, a resident of the society said, "It is now a common issue of lift in the society. 370 families are living in four towers of the entire housing society. There are eight lifts in these four towers, out of which six lifts are defective. Most people get stuck in the lift. Many times this complaint was made to UPSIDA and their higher officials. Though orders have also been given by UPSIDA to the builder to solve all the problems, the builder is la-la land. The builder is playing with people's lives.
