Noida to Soon Have Park Especially For Dogs

Noida: The Noida Sector-137 authority has designated approximately 3.85 acres of land for a dog park, which will also include a clinic and canteen for both canines and felines. The park will feature a walking track, play areas, and food and drink for dogs, with special attention paid to their nutritional needs based on weather conditions.

The park will be operated by a private agency that will also provide dog trainers for pet owners who need them. Separate areas will be designated for big and small dogs, and other facilities such as a water fountain and waste disposal station will be available.

The idea to build a dog park in Noida Sector-137 arose due to the high number of high-rise societies in the area and the resulting objections from some residents to taking dogs to parks built within these societies. Fights between dogs and other conflicts have also been reported. Previously, there was no designated space in the city for pet dogs and cats to play and socialize.

The park construction has been completed, and preparations are underway to select an agency to operate it. Once the agency is selected, the park will be inaugurated and opened to the public. Pet registration with the Noida Authority will be required for entry, with the Authority offering a Pet Registration App that allows owners to register their pets for a fee of Rs 500 for a one-year period. The Authority is also planning to set up registration camps for the convenience of pet owners.
