Greater Noida’s JKG Palm Court Society suffer days-long power outage

Greater Noida West:  Residents of JKG Palm Court Society are experiencing days-long power cuts since May 12. Though it’s been three years, the builder has not yet made arrangements for power backup.

Residents claim that inverters have got discharged and 400 families are suffering from the heat. Work-from-home people are also helpless without WiFi and laptops.

This society of Greater Noida West is in bad shape for the last 19 hours. The transformer caught fire because of the low load capacity. The cable caught fire and then the transformer burnt.

The builder had taken a temporary construction connection and was without occupancy. He gave possession of flats to 400 families. But the capacity of the transformer was not enough to handle the load of 400 families.

YD Sharma, a resident of JKG palm court said, “For the last four months, all the residents of the society sat on dharna, complained to the authority, gave a memorandum to the DM, and informed the Chief Minister through the Twitter medium. But everyone turned a blind eye. Already the builder has removed the guards and sweepers from this society and now there is no electricity."
