The Indian Iris, a research-based portal that provides information on government policies and initiatives, has launched a campaign called Har Ghar Solar in Sector 31, Noida. The campaign is aimed at spreading awareness about the need to implement clean energy practices, such as embracing solar power.

"The environment is deteriorating with every passing day," said Narayan Singh Rao, founder of portal and an alumnus of IIT Roorkee and IIM Ahmedabad. "Last November, the NCR was hit by the worst smog of the century. We organised this campaign to encourage more and more people to embrace clean energy practices."

Members of the Indian Iris also intend to spread awareness about the government's subsidy programme to increase adoption of solar energy in the city.

While launching the campaign, Sunil Sethi, president of the Sector 31 RWA, told City Spidey that solar energy was the need of the hour and that he hoped the campaign would reach a substantial number in the city and make a difference.
