The Ghaziabad Development Authority is set to compile a list of homebuyers, who have unresolved issues in terms of real estate investments. According to the civic body this list shall help them ascertain the exact count of homebuyers who are yet to receive possession of their flats.  Ritu Maheshwari, vice-chairperson of Ghaziabad Development Authority, said that the procedure has already started and shall be complete within a few days.

Acknowledging the fact that the process of resolving builder buyer issues has been moving at a snail’s speed Maheshwari said that the problems are wide and varied, with each housing project having a unique set of problems. “We are holding weekly meetings with both the buyers and builders of the 29 projects that have been ear marked during the ministerial committee meeting. We are trying to resolve all issues by January 31,” she added.

Buyers on the other hand, have high hopes from the BJP government. “This disadvantageous situation of home buyers had been completely overlooked by the previous governments. Therefore we had invested our faith in the BJP government. Despite several meetings with ministers, we are yet to see any concrete results or roadmap. Several steps have to be taken like forming the RERA Authority and involving the National Buildings Construction Corporation,” said Alok Kumar, president of Federation of Apartment Owners Association in Ghaziabad.
