A TV journalist Anuj Chaudhary was shot by unidentified men in his own residence at Ghaziabad on Sunday.

In a shocking incident, a journalist, Anuj Chaudhary, was shot at by unidentified men at his house in Razapur area of Kavinagar, Ghaziabad on Sunday. Chaudhary suffered multiple bullet wounds and was shifted to Yashoda hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Chaudhary works for Sahara Samay, a television news channel.

The brutal crime has taken place at a time when the UP police is boasting of reining in criminals, gangsters and history sheeters.

Police said that four-five unidentified criminals riding on two-wheelers went to Chaudhary's house in Rajapur locality in Kavi Nagar at around 7.30 p.m. As they saw Chaudhary standing at his house’s entrance, they fired multiple shots at him.

 

While one bullet hit him in the abdomen, two hit him in the right arm. Doctors attending on him said that his condition is "critical" and he has been taken for surgery.

The police have stated that, prima facie it seems that the attack took place due to personal enmity. Other possible angles are also being probed, police said.

Further, the police added that they were looking into CCTV footages from the area. Meanwhile four police teams have been formed to nab the culprits. The police have also confirmed that a complaint has already been received and an FIR is being lodged.

Sources claimed that Chaudhary's younger brother had also been murdered in a previous case of assault. Anuj Chaudhary was assigned a personal gunner who was on leave.
