In the meeting chaired by the Lt Governor of Delhi Anil Baizal, the Delhi Development Authority Budget for the year 2018-19 was presented on Wednesday. Budget expenditure for the year 2018-19 was kept at Rs 8,032 crore. It was Rs 5,295 crore in 2017-18.

The estimated budget was proposed with an objective to transform Delhi into a world class city. Request for Proposal (RFP) for developing vacant area available at Dwarka (200 ha), Rohini (259 ha) and Narela (218 ha) have been floated.

Construction of rail over bridge (ROB) at Narela was proposed in the budget. 15 new development schemes and 14 new housing and related development works were introduced in the budget. It was also proposed that Multi-purpose Community Hall at Block - E, Sector-16, Rohini will be constructed.

3 pilot projects on in-situ rehabilitation are under progress at Kalkaji, Jailorwala Bagh and Kathputili Colony.

It was mentioned that construction of five socio cultural centers in Rohini, Dwarka, Shahdara, Mayur Place and Netaji Subhash Place is at planning stage.

Development of 62 acre area surrounding the Sultangarhi Tomb Conservation Complex in Vasant Kunj was proposed. Rejuvenation and restoration of river Yamuna and up gradation of Vasant Udyan at Vasant Kunj were included in the budget of 2018-19.

The Authority also gave a go ahead to the revised modalities for enhanced floor-area ratio (FAR) in planned commercial centers.

Apart from the budget, there were some other decisions which were taken in the meeting. It was decided that 794 LIG flats, 574 in Sector-34, Rohini and 220 flats at Siraspur will be allotted to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
