Haryana DTPC orders Rich Reg condo to raze the illegally built wall

As per the orders of the enforcement wing of the department of town and country planning (DTCP), Gurugram, the wall between the economically weaker section (EWS) blocks and the blocks with the upscale Richmond Park, Regent House and Regency Park 1 condominiums in DLF-4 will be removed.

The decision has been taken as the wall was illegally built. The direction has been issued to the Rich Reg Condominium Association to remove the wall in next 15 days. If it has not been removed in the stipulated time period then the department will go ahead with the removal of the wall.

An official, Rajender T Sharma, DTP (Enforcement), said that the layout plan should strictly follow the sanctioned plan in accordance with the Haryana Regulation and Development of Urban Areas Act, 1975.

The Rich Reg Society includes Richmond Park, Regent House and Regency Park 1 and SP Block. DLF constructed SP Block for its employees. There are 232 flats in EWS and SP Block put together.

The residents of EWS and SP Block had complained to the DTCP that the RWA had denied entry into the complex in November last year and hence they are not able to avail the facilities of the complex.

A group of residents led by Amarjeet Mor had raised the issue in CM window. After that, the DTCP has taken this action.

In its order, the DTCP, said, “…no compound wall or wall has been approved in the layout plan of the said group housing. As per the approved layout plan of the entry of the EWS block is separate but that does not mean that an enclosure should be made for the EWS block. It is assumed that purpose of the erection of the wall and putting a lock at the gate is tantamount to discrimination, seclusion and humiliation of the EWS families with other residents of the said group housing colonies.”

Mor was very happy with the decision and he said that this was a very position action by DTCP. He further said the wall should be removed as soon as possible as they are facing difficulties because of it.
