RWAs, voluntary organisations and residents of the sub city cleaned the area in and around their societies.
The residents of Dwarka today organised a cleanliness drive in the sub-city to commemorate 149th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. While the RWAs cleaned their respective society premises, social organisations carried out cleanliness drives on roads, parks and market areas.
At Munirka Apartments in Sector 9, management of the society in association with the Confederation of Dwarka Sub City cleaned the society premises and the area around it. The members from the management also made people aware about the importance of waste segregation.
Pankaj Sharma, general secretary of Confederation of Dwarka Sub City, and a resident of Munirka Apartments, said, “This is the first time we have carried out a campaign like this on Gandhi Jayanti. We will keep making efforts to keep our society clean and green.”

Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi (SDKS) — a voluntary organisation — in association with RWAs and managements of the societies, carried out cleanliness drives in Sectors 22 and 23. At Sector 7, people from various societies cleaned a park under the aegis of Green Circle.
Area councillor and leader of the house of SDMC, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, also participated in the cleaning campaign organised at Bharat Vandana Apartments in Sector 19.

Secretary of SDKS and a resident of New Kanchanjunga Apartments in Sector 23, DC Mathur, said that the voluntary organisation had carried out a cleaning campaign in 15 societies over the past one week. “Housekeeping staff from various societies had participated in the drive. We had sent a letter to various RWAs two days in advance informing them about the cleaning drive.”

The societies in Sector 22 that participated in the drive are Keshav Kunj, Delhi Apartments, Dream Apartments, Shubham Apartments, Classic Apartments, Udyog Vihar, Himalaya Apartments, Chitrakoot Apartments, Sadbhavna Apartments and Janaki Apartments. In Sector 23, DDA Flats, NKJ Apartments, New Millennium Apartments, Philips Apartments, IFCI Apartments, Airlines Apartments, Vishwas Apartments were covered under the cleaning drive.
