Noida: Missing teenage girl found safe in Kota

A teenage girl who went missing on Friday from the gates of her society Rajat Vihar in Sector 62, Noida, has been found safe in Kota at her grandparent’s house today morning. The 15-year-old might have run away from her home because of fear as she had scored low grades in her exams, said her father.

Pranshika Tyagi, a Class X student of a private school in Delhi, had gone missing while returning from her tuition classes in Sector 18.

The CCTV footage gathered from the society had confirmed that she did enter the society after being dropped by the private institute’s van outside the main gate around 8.30 pm, but strangely never reached home.

The police had registered an FIR against unknown person and launched a search operation.

“She had lied to us about her results and now she was afraid of us getting angry after knowing the truth,” said the girl’s father. “She had told us that she has scored 95 percent marks, but now that we have a parents-teachers meeting coming up, she must have gotten scared and that’s why decided to go that far.”

He said that at around 8.30 am today, he received a call from his father-in-law informing him that the girl has reached at their place, but she looked extremely scared and tired.

The father informed the police that the girl has reached her grandparent’s house in Kota, said Pankaj Rai, SHO of Sector 58, Noida. “We have sent a police team to Kota to bring her back. We will be able to tell more about the incident after talking to the girl on the matter.”
