Noida Industrial Development Authority on Wednesday disconnected water supply and sewage connections of 28 defaulters, who owe more than Rs 10 lakh as dues to the authority for its services.
The action was initiated following a non-compliance order issued by the Revenue (water) Cell of the authority. The cell has issued notices to the defaulters ordering them to clear their dues within two months.
As per the press statement, the authority observed that the defaulters wilfully did not clear the dues which forced the authority to disconnect water supply and sewage connections. The 28 defaulters include industrialist, commercial units and other institutions.
The statement warned that the authority will take similar actions against other defaulters if they do not clear their dues.
The authority had prepared a list of 107 big defaulters who owe collectively Rs 46.21 crores to the authority. All are being served notice for clearance of dues. In case they fail to comply, their supply too will be disconnected.
