Miffed with non delivery of amenities promised by the builder and shabby maintenance of the society, residents of Officer City I, a housing society in Raj Nagar Extension, staged a protest against him on Monday. Dozens of residents took to the streets with banners and placard.

The 4 hour long protest started around 9:30 am and continued till 1:30 pm. More than 50 residents including women took part in the protest.

The residents alleged that the builder has failed to provide basic amenities such as electricity, water and security.

"Yesterday, we spent our Sunday without power. The power back up was not working and we spent our day without electricity in this hot and humid weather. Just few days ago, a bicycle was stolen from the society's premises. Meanwhile, we often face water shortage as well," told Hitendra Kansal, a resident of the society.

Kansal shifted in the society in December 2018. He alleged that till date the builder has not provided basement parking facility.

Besides, there are many issues related to non delivery of amenities and maintenance mismanagement. "There is no permanent gym and club facility. No shower and changing rooms for men and women have been built near the swimming pool. Our rainwater harvesting system is non-functional," Kansal listed out the amenities he claimed to be missing.

Meanwhile, the residents said that a representative from the developer's company visited the residents later and assured them of resolving all their grievances.

A meeting between the residents and the developer has been scheduled later in the day.
