To ensure safety people in the wake of the ongoing festive season, the Dwarka police has beefed up security in the district. Special measures are being taken in the view of terror threat during this time.
Meanwhile, footfalls in Durga Puja pandals, Ramleela venues and markets have increased significantly.
Senior officers are holding briefings for police staff, civil defense, public volunteers, home guards, private security guards, organisers, food vendors and swing owners stationed at Ramleela and Durga Puja venues with regular intervals.
In Dwarka sub-division, there are three major venues of Ramleela. Rajendra Singh, ACP Dwarka, along with SHOs had held a joint briefing regarding anti-terror measures/precautions to be taken for safety and security of the public.
Entire security staff and organisers of Ramleela and Durga Puja have been apprised of secuity threat in the sub-city.
In order to eliminate chances of any untoward incident during the festive season, regular security checks are being conducted in the markets with the help of dog squad. Police presence has been enhanced in both the markets and the religious places and adequate staff has been deployed for night patrolling.
The Dwarka district police is trying for optimum utilisation of the resources available with the district, like providing DCP reserve staff to different police stations, patrolling by GPS-fitted vehicles in the area, trainees of refresher course for various police stations.
