Gaur City: Women residents celebrate Karwa Chauth with traditional spirits

The women residents celebrated the festival of Karwa Chauth with great traditional spirits by keeping a day-long fast for the long life of their husbands at Gaur City’s 6th Avenue in Greater Noida West.

The women adorned traditional attires, decked up with vibrant Mehndi (Myrtle) patterns on hands and feet, and jointly took part in the ritual of listening to the story of Karwa Chauth.

They also played Antakshari (a game of songs) and carried out other activities for entertainment. The younger women residents then sought the blessing of the elders.

Talking to CitySpidey, Anita Prajapati, a resident of the society said, “I have been keeping a fast for the long life of my husband from last 10 years.”

She said all the women of the society were engaged in the preparation since morning without even consuming water and will broke their fast after seeing the moon and doing the puja.
