Brahma Apartments, a residential society in Sector 7, Dwarka, is carrying out a drive to make maids and domestic helps aware about effective management of waste and water in the society.
On Sunday, an awareness workshop was organised at society premises in which about 30 maids were made aware on the subject.
In the workshop, Madhuri Varshney from an NGO, Rise Foundation, interacted with the maids. She gave a PPT presentation too to make the subject easily understandable.
Maids also put forward questions to Madhuri about the effective management of waste and water.
Varshney said, “Maids are very important part of managing waste and saving water. We want to empower them with the required information. We are motivating them to adopt effective waste management.”
Secretary of Brahma Apartments, Munish Kundra was also present during the workshop. He shared to CitySpidey, “After the organic waste composting machine installation in Brahma Apartments few months back with the support from MLA Bhavna Gaur, the next challenge was to educate the house maids and domestic helps on the topic of waste segregation.”
“With the support of the NGO, we tried to create awareness on waste segregation and also importance of water conservation among them. The participants were happy to attend the workshop and pledged to follow the guidelines given during the session,” he said.
“They realised their role in making the environment better. This time, 30 out of the 80 maids participated in the workshop. We will be doing it for the rest of them too,” he added.
