You have made it through another week of drudgery. You have probably toiled through the week and dying for some good time.

Let City Spidey give you a few options to go ahead and spoil yourself this weekend.



1. Month-long cultural fest

What: A month-long cultural festival of plays and music performances kicks off. The event, organised by the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), has been orgainised to promote art and culture in the city.

Why: The fest is free of cost and will include a milieu of talented performances such as qawwali, comedy play and Haryanvi dance and drama.

When: The fest starts on July 2. The month-long fest will be held every Sunday.

Where: Open Air Theatre, Sector 29, Gurgaon (Starts 7.30 pm)

Nearest Metro Station: IFFCO Chowk


2. Brunch at Country Inn & Suites

What: Brunch by the pool at Mosaic, Country Inn & Suites

Why: The motto of  the brunch is ‘Swim, Eat and Drink’. Complete with a multi-cuisine spread that includes Indian, Continental, Oriental, Mexican and European dishes, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The best part? The rooftop pool is where you can enjoy your martini, as you take a lazy dip in the pool.

3. Workshop - Madhubani/Mithila Painting an ancient art by Santosh Paswan

What: A  six-hour workshop that introduces you to the Madhupani painting style.

Why: As kids, we all loved to draw. And frankly, there are few other stressbusters than learning a new form of drawing. This form of painting is done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks, using natural dyes and pigments, and is characterized by eye-catching geometrical patterns.

When: July 3 (10 am onwards)

Where: The Village, 7 Tropical Drive, Ghitorni, Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road

What: Adnan Sami Live in Noida

Why: The soulful crooner is bound to make the crowd swoon with his repertoire of moody ballads.

When: July 2 (7 pm onwards)

Where: Gardens Galleria Mall, Noida

2. Check out a new place in town — Oh So stoned!

What: No, it is not what the name suggests. Oh So Stoned! is the hippest new ice cream parlour in town 

Why: It's sweltering outside and you will most probably be thinking twice about going out. But you need to recharge your batteries. Solution? Oh So Stoned! — the brand new ice cream parlour at the brand new Mall of India. Portions are good and the mouthwatering sundaes are big enough for two!

3. Dashari Mangoes Sale

What: A website called anaazmandi.com is selling organic hand-plucked mangoes at cheap rates offline. You can get them delivered at your place too. Just visit the site and order.

Why: Well, because mangoes are the best.
