New Delhi: The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) on Monday told the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that they have formed 52 teams for sealing illegal borewells in the city.
New Delhi: The DPCC informed the NGT bench headed by Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel that action plan has already been prepared by divisional commissioners at the district level.
DPCC said, “We have planned to seal all the illegal borewells by March 20, 2020. 52 teams have been formed for this purpose. Revenue and DJB officials are included in the teams.”
It also informed that 293 illegal borewells have been sealed since November 8.
In a meeting held on November 15, it was decided in front of the the tribunal that Delhi Jal Board will furnish complete list of 19,154 illegal borewells to the district magistrates.
SDMs from other districts were also deployed to expedite the sealing of illegal borewells.
The NGT said that they will complete sealing of illegal borewells by March 2020.
