New Delhi: In an important meeting of Delhi Jal Board (DJB), every household and group housing society has been instructed to install rainwater harvesting system by March 2020.

Till then, the board has decided to defer imposition of penalty on consumers who have not installed a rainwater harvesting system.

A letter has been issued on November 22 where Director of Revenue Department, DJB, instructed all the concerned authorities to make enough arrangement for water conservation.

He stated, “Water conservation is everyone's responsibility. People should implement it while making and private and commercial properties. Rainwater harvesting is a process where we can conserve 80 per cent of rainwater. It can help in uplifting the groundwater level as well. The system can be used to solve the problem of the water crisis.”
