Noida: Students of a private inter-college for girls in Sector 61 celebrated their annual day with a cultural event replete with folk and traditional performances on Saturday. One after another, all the presentations were so mesmerising that they left the audience asking for more.

Starting with the recital of Saraswati Vandana, the cultural programme was followed by lighting of the rational lamp by MS Chaudhary, chairman of Rama Devi Girls' Inter College, and other guests of honour present on the dias.

It was a theme-based programme on 'Incredible India' where participants presented traditional dances.

Addressing the gathering, Chaudhary said that the institution focused on the holistic development of the students. This is why the emphasis is laid not only on imparting quality education among students but also training them in traditional and cultural dances of India as also other extra-curricular.

The students also presented a social awareness programme with women empowerment as a theme. These programmes were in the form of drama namely 'Save Women', 'No more Silence', and 'Mobile Ke Side Effects' (Side effects of excessive usage of Mobile). Though small, these dramas were educative and inspiring.

The event culminated with the distribution of prizes by Varun Chaudhary, director of the inter-college.
