Gurugram: Hundreds of enthusiastic citizens queued up to donate blood at a camp at Sikanderpur Badha Village on Sunday. The blood donation camp was organised by Study Point Society in collaboration with the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS).
In the end of the camp, 87 units of blood was collected.
Manish Yadav, BJP Youth president, was the chief guest at the camp. Highlighting the importance of blood donation, Yadav urged the people to donate blood as it helps save lives.
He called it a noble cause and should be continued as it is in the interest of the the society and the nation at large.
Organisers of the event, Ravi Yadav from Sikanderpur Village, Lokesh Yadav from Vatika India Next, Himanshu Sharma from Antiksh Heights, along with their team, were present on the occasion to facilitate the visitors to the camp.
Lokesh Yadav, a resident of Vatika India Next said, "This is the seventh camp in New Gurguram area. We have collected over 700 blood units since the last two years and have helped hundreds of patients in the AIIMS."
"Earlier we used to organise the camp in housing societies. But now, we are engaging villagers also to join us in this noble cause. This was the first camp in a village."
