New Delhi: With the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) coming into effect in the National Capital for the Assembly elections the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) removed all posters of candidates violating Election Commission's rules.

Elections to the Delhi Assembly are scheduled to be held on February 8.

The Delhi Election Commission has instructed all municipal corporations to keep a vigil on those violating the code of conduct. A special drive was carried out by the election commission in East Delhi to ensure that the rules are duly followed.

During the drive, the EDMC has found many posters with designation of candidates. All such posters were removed.
