Deathtraps on Dwarka road: Traverse the stretch at your own risk

Dwarka: Potholes and craters abound Dwarka roads. The sub city's dilapidated road infrastructure poses a risk to the lives and limbs of commuters. But the civic agencies whose job it is to repair and maintain the roads seem to be in deep slumber.

CitySpidey has been trying to draw the attention of the authorities through reports and visuals from time to time. In keeping with our campaign for better road infrastructure, the basic amenity for the citizens, we are herewith carrying photographs of a badly maintained road which are a tell-tale proof of civic negligence.

An obscure trap

A manhole developed on the road from Sector 6/10 signal going towards Sector 10 (pic above) is an invitation to danger for commuters. It's an obscure trap for any unassuming biker to skid and break his/her bones.

Twin danger

The two potholes placed in a sequence on the main internal road of Sector 10 near the cut near Saksham Apartments Sector 10 are equally dangerous. The two are placed in such an order that if a commuter skips one, he/she is sure to skid on the other.

A scooty rider negotiating a turn towards the masterplan road 202 between the two potholes. So deep are the potholes that the wheel of a scooty can get stuck in them leading to an imminent accident.

From frying pan to fire
Here is another pothole. It is developed on the road just a few metres away from a manhole. It's located in the middle of the main road of Sector 10 connecting the masterplan road 202. Anyone, who drives clear of the manhole, can still run the risk of skidding on the pothole.

These three photographs are enough to show how dangerous the travel on the stretch from the cut near Saksham Apartments towards the masterplan road 202 could be. Here a tragedy seems to be just waiting to happen. It's the duty of the concerned authorities to take note of it clear these hurdles for a safe passage to commuters.
