New Delhi: The officials on Tuesday said that nearly 150 centenarian voters have been identified by poll authorities ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections on February 8. A 110-year-old woman is the oldest among them.

As reported by Business Standard, all the centenarian voters have been identified and verified. The figures will be updated once the verification process gets over.

As of now, officials are doing physical verification wherein they are checking whether these voters are alive or still living in the National Capital.

According to Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ranbir Singh, all these voters will be provided the same kind of facilities which were extended during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

“A senior officer will go to the houses of these centenarian voters and escort them to the polling booths. The officers will also request these voters to vote in the elections if their health permits,” said the CEO.

“If the voters are eager to vote despite being frail, we will be making all sorts of arrangements to help them in exercising their franchise. They will be greeted with bouquets and election staff would be taking selfies with them. They will be treated like VVIPs,” he said.
