Ghaziabad: In a bid to beautify all the entry points in the city, the district administration of Ghaziabad has decided to install streetlights and gates and landscape the surrounding areas.
Anand Vihar (Maharajpur) border, Gyani, UP Gate, and Tulsi Niketan are the main entry points of the city. Local departments will oversee the construction cost of the project.
The district administration has said in case additional funds are required, the local departments can write to the government.
On Wednesday, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) and the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) were asked to start the work.
The move came after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the city and expressed his displeasure over the poor condition of roads and encroachment on the road leading towards Delhi.
Consequently, an eight-member panel was formed to look into the matter.
The Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey has asked the GMC commissioner to set up a special team, city entrance cleanliness force, to look after the cleanliness of all the entry points.
