Open Mic on sustainability held at Apeejay School of Management

Delhi: Eco Club of Apeejay School of Management (ASM) organised an Open Mic on sustainability on February 7 to raise awareness on environmental issues among the youth. 

O P Khanduja, Executive Director, ASM, inaugurated the event and inspired the students to take charge of today so that tomorrow can be safe and secure for all the living and nonliving beings on the earth.

Dr Amit Sareen, Officiating Director, ASM, encouraged the students to adopt sustainable living by getting on BMW –Bicycle, Metro and Walking and reduce the personal carbon footprint for a better tomorrow. Speaking on the occasion, V Selvarajan, Founder, Green Circle, observed that such small initiatives on the margins do have a lasting impact. He urged the youth to join the noble movement of saving the earth and reversing the ill-effects of global warming and climate change.

In the Open Mic, students from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi University and ASM participated in public speaking, poetry, singing and music. G Vaishnavi of ASM stood first while G Indrani was runner up. Kritika Awasthi, Kashish, Tanya Dhawan of ASM shared the third prize with Elina Singh of IITM. Kanak Kathuria and Rishabh Sekhri of IITM and Nikita Mittal and Shrestha Aswal of Maharaja Surajmal Institute received a special prize on the occasion.

An exhibition of eco-friendly products was also put up by Ecofriendly Lifestyle Foundation on the sidelines of the event.

V Selvarajan, Romilla Gandhi and Ranjana Saraf of Green Circle were the jury members. The program was facilitated by Dr Srirang Jha, Faculty Advisor, Eco Club, ASM, Rajneesh Pandey and Preksha Sharma compeered the event.
