Ghaziabad: Just in a week of its launch, the online pet registration service has gained substantial momentum in Ghaziabad. According to Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC), over 300 pet owners have applied for registration by February 7.
The officials told that they have received over 300 applications and as many as 30 registration certificates have been issued to the pet owners.
GMC started the service on February 1 by launching an Android mobile application. With this launch, the GMC has become the first municipal corporation in the state of Uttar Pradesh to start registration service for pets through online medium.
The application is currently available on Google Play Store under the name – Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam Pet Registration.
For registration, pet owners have to feed details of their pets like its name, photograph, kind, breed, date of birth and details of rabies vaccination in the app and then pay a fee to complete the registration application.
The corporation has fixed Rs 1,000 as a pet registration fee for a year. The fee is subject to renewal annually.
