Noida: On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2020, Ritu Maheshwari, Managing Director of Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRC) and CEO of Noida Industrial Development Authority, gave a special gift to women passengers of the Aqua Line by unveiling two stations of Aqua Line Corridor namely Sector 76 and Pari Chowk Metro Stations as Pink Stations.
Pammi Gauba, wife of Rajiv Gauba, Union cabinet secretary, who was chief guest at the inauguration, raised the curtain to officially announce the launch of the pink metro stations.
Women commuting by the Aqua Line will now be able to avail more facilities at Sector 76 and Pari Chowk Metro Stations of Aqua Line or the Pink stations.
These stations will have a number of additional facilities like Baby Feeding Room, Baby Diaper Changing Room and Make Up/Changing Room and Selfie point. The facilities are there to ease the commute for women passengers and to empower them to manage their daily professional/personal responsibilities. All the facilities are available to all women passengers free of cost.
This year’s Women’s Day theme ‘Each for Equal’ conveys a message of gender equality in all the spheres of life. This new initiative by the NMRC is an initiative to take this message forward and enable women to strike a perfect work-life balance so that they do not miss out on any opportunity both personal and professional.
Besides the facilities available at the Pink Stations, sanitary napkin vending machines have also been installed at all 21 stations of Aqua Line.
