New Delhi: The Delhi government will hold a day-long special Assembly session to take stock of the situation arising from COVID- 19 on Friday.

A decision in this regard was taken on Wednesday as the threat of the virus is increasing by the day. Ten more people have been tested positive for the virus in the country taking the total number to 60.

Sources in the Delhi Government said the decision to call a special Assembly session has been taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday.

"A special session of the Assembly has been called on March 13 over the NRC issue. Coronavirus will also be discussed in the special session," said a Delhi government official.

While the decision on the budget session is yet to be finalised, it is likely to take place around March 25, the official added.
