Noida: Residents shut clubs, gyms in their societies in the wake of coronavirus

Noida: Adhering to the orders of the district administration of Gautam Budh Nagar, residents of several societies of Noida closed all clubs and gyms in their respective societies to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Two days ago, the district administration had ordered closure of all cinema halls, multiplexes and gyms in Noida and Greater Noida till March 31 after the state health department issued a notification to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

D K Singh, president of apartment owner association (AOA), Ajnara Grand Heritage, a highrise in Sector 74, said that the society's management board had decided to shut club house for the next two weeks. Besides, the society has also taken several  precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

''Common areas like receptions in residential towers, passenger lifts and its buttons are being sanitised after every three hours. Liquid shops have been made available at each of the two entry gates so that people can wash their hands every time they enter the society,” Singh said.

Further, he said that residents, especially those who came back home from abroad or came in contact with foreign nationals should report about the same to the district administration though a helpline number launched for the same.

He said, ''It is our social responsibility to be cautious for containing the spread of coronavirus by taking precautionary measures. I hope all will coordinate for the same.''
