Two positive coronavirus cases confirmed in Noida

Noida: Two people have been tested positive for coronavirus in Noida and have been kept in the isolation ward of Government Institute of Medical Science (GIMS), Greater Noida on Tuesday. 

It was confirmed Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anurag Bhargava. 

The woman has travel history from France was already admitted to the hospital on Saturday. She is a resident of Lotus Boulevard Espacia in Sector 100 while the man lives in Hyde Park Society in Sector 78.

Following this, the Apartment Owners Association (AOA) of Hyde Park Society has restricted entry of all maids, vendors, delivery boys and visitors in the society. Under the instructions of the district administration, the residents of the society were asked to self-quarantine and stay at home.

Similar instructions were sent through the society in Sector 100 and the administration has started sanitising process in both the cases.

No member of the two societies were ready to speak to the reporter as clear instructions have been sent out not to panic or create panic.

The man who was tested positive of coronavirus and kept in the isolation ward of Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) on Tuesday came in contact with an infected person.

The man in his mid-twenties is a resident of a society in Sector 78 and tested positive on March 16 after he came into contact with his boss – a senior executive (a Delhi resident) who was tested positive earlier and visited the Sector 80 factory on March 13.

After which, some 700 employees of the factory were asked to isolate themselves and an immediate screening was started. 

Chief Medical officer Dr Anurag Bhargava said, “Two people, a 21-year-old woman, and a male have been tested positive for COVID-19 and are undergoing treatment.”

The district administration has already started screening everyone from both societies in the first stage. By afternoon, the teams will start door-to-door screening within one kilometer of both the societies. 

The health department has put them (residents of both the societies) under the surveillance.
