New Delhi: Number of positive coronavirus cases are surging alarmingly in the periphery of Delhi-NCR. The extent of damage can be understood from the point of view that it can surpass the total number of cases reported from China in days to come.
Till Thursday, 81,792 cases have been registered in Delhi-NCR including Sonipat whereas China had reported 84,673 cases.
Moreover, the number of cases reported from Delhi-NCR exceeds the cases reported from 167 countries. Delhi-NCR is ahead of countries like Japan and Egypt.
A study showed that if Delhi-NCR would have been a country then it could have the 22nd most affected country in the world.
As far as deaths are concerned, till June 23, 2,584 people died in the Delhi-NCR. In terms of deaths, Delhi-NCR would have been 23rd most affected country.
Delhi alone has number of cases exceeding 166 countries as of now. Delhi has so far reported 77,240 coronavirus cases and 2,492 deaths. The number is more than what is being reported in countries like Bhutan, Jamaica, Taiwan and Vietnam.
There are 44 countries where number of positive cases ranges between 1000-5000. These countries are New Zealand, Cuba, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Delhi-NCR has larger number of cases than these countries.
32 countries have less than 20,000 cases. These countries are Australia, Malaysia and Japan.
