Delhi: Heavy rains predicted for three days from Monday

New Delhi: The recent spells of rains have already drastically cut the monsoon deficit in the national capital. Now, there are more heavy rains coming for Delhiites. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains for three days starting from Monday.

The IMD has also issued orange alert between July 27 and 29 in the city. Heavy rains are also expected in other cities of the National Capital Region (NCR).

The last few rains had affected the city badly with flooding at most of the places. The next expected rains could also do the same to the city.

As per Skymet weather, the rains will start from Sunday. Light rains are expected in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad.

They have also forecasted that monsoon trough formed along the plains of Himalaya will shift towards Delhi from Sunday. As a result, there will be a lot of rain in Delhi till the end of July.

The monsoon had hit Delhi on June 25 but there was very little rain in the next 20 days. The rains, which started from last Sunday, continued till Wednesday.

The experts are considering these spells of rains good for the people. It is expected to better the depleting groundwater level in the national capital. As well, these rains are good for farmers.
