Delhi: Authorities extend coronavirus testing facilities to parks, outside malls

New Delhi: Apart from the facilities of testing at designated places like hospitals and dispensaries, the authorities have expanded the facilities of testing to other places like parks, outside malls, markets etc in Delhi.

There has been an aggressive stand on testing since the recent upsurge of cases in the city. Now, tests are being conducted at public places for a few hours daily. The move has been taken to test as many people as possible.

As per the officials, many healthy people with zero symptoms were reluctant to go for tests because of the social stigma attached to the diseases. They felt that testing a large number of people will help in containing the spread of coronavirus.

Open testing facility was being conducted at many places including central park near Kailash Colony market. Similar camps were set up at East, North West and West districts.

The officials felt that the arrangement offers the people to easily test themselves and avoid the crowded hospitals and dispensaries. “We saw maids turning up for the tests,” said an official.
