Waste management awareness program organised at Delhi Apartments

Dwarka: A waste management awareness program was organised at Delhi Apartments in Sector 22, Dwarka. Alongside the residents, the maids were also made aware about the process of segregation and ways to keep the society clean and green.

The program was organised by the Federation of CGHS, Dwarka and the managing committee of Delhi Apartments. 

Deputy Commissioner of SDMC, Nazafgarh Zone, Radha Krishna, Councillor of Dwarka Ward B, Kamaljeet Sehrawat and other officials were present on the occasion.

The DC appreciated the initiative and appealed to the community people to inculcate the waste segregation at source in lifestyle. He urged people to help the system and said that the system would help the community in keeping Dwarka clean and green. 

While replying to the queries, Councillor Kamaljeet Sehrawat said that SDMC is committed to make the waste management a success. She said that green waste and construction material waste would be managed properly. 

She said, “We have a plant at Bakkarwala. Soon, it will start working and then the construction material waste would be processed and made as bricks, tiles and other such things.” On the subject of furniture waste raised by Nidhi Gupta, Sehrawat assured to do the needful soon.

General secretary of Federation CGHS, Dwarka, Sudha Sinha said that her society is committed to manage wet and dry waste effectively. “We have started it here by giving bags of wet waste and dry waste to our residents so that they could start it smoothly at the beginning. We want to make everyone aware about the importance of waste segregation,” she said.
