Here's how Dwarka women celebrated Teej!

Sector 23: Celebration becomes elaborate as hundreds of women participate in event marked by Saraswati Vandana and several dance performances.

Here's how Dwarka women celebrated Teej! Dancers perform at the Teej Mahotsav organised at the community hall in Sector 23 on Sunday.

Hundreds of women from all across Dwarka participated in a Teej Mahotsav organised by Association of Neighbourhood Ladies Get-together at the community hall, Sector 23, Dwarka, on Sunday evening.

During the event, various activities took place as part of Hariyali Teej in which women participated.

The  programme began, in accordance with tradition, with Saraswati Vandana followed by a welcome address by Cicily Kodiyan, president of ANHLGT. She also welcomed Rajesh Gehlot, former MLA of the area and the chief guest at the event, along with others.

 

 

Dancers enthrall the audience during the Teej Mahotsav event at the community hall in Sector 23 on Sunday.

 

Members of Nischintam group, Shobha Bhatnagar Institute, ANHLGT and Sahitya  Kala kids enthralled the audience with their dance performances on the occasion.

During the event birthday of ANHLGT members born in July was also celebrated.

There was also a mehandi session for women and various delicacies were served at the stalls there. Kodiyan said, "The function focussed on Haryali Teej and community women. And we enjoyed a lot. Our members also performed on the stage. All performances revolved around Teej, Haryali and Sawan.”

Teej is a festival celebrated by Hindu women for marital bliss and the well-being of their husbands.
