New Delhi: Delhi witnessed severe cold conditions on Friday as minimum temperature fell to 2.7 degrees Celcius. The lowest minimum temperature of 2.7 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jafarpur whereas it was 3.5 degrees Celsius at Ayanagar and 3.8 at Lodhi Road.
The Safdarjung observatory recorded minimum temperature at 4.4 degrees Celsius, which was three notches below normal.
As per the India Meteorological Department, Delhi might get a little respite from the severe cold for four days from Sunday.
An official said, “The minimum temperature is likely to be around 7 degrees Celsius in the first four days of the next week. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 23 degrees Celsius.”
The city had seen severe cold wave conditions on Friday and Thursday. The maximum temperature was recorded at 19.8 degrees Celsius, which was three notches below normal.
On the other hand, a severe cold day was witnessed with a maximum temperature of 15.2 degrees Celsius on Thursday. It was seven degrees below normal.
