New Delhi: The citizens of Delhi on Monday experienced a little respite from the prevalent cold wave conditions over the last one week. The minimum temperature rose to 5.5 degrees Celsius.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given a forecast of cold wave along with dense fog from Wednesday. As per an official, a western disturbance was influencing the region leading to an increase in mercury levels over the last 48 hours.
He said, “Daytime temperature has increased and the conditions are a little warmer than before. The national capital was recording minimum temperature around 4 degrees Censius but it has risen. The minimum temperature is again expected to decline to 4 degrees Celsius by December 23.”
The maximum temperature was recorded at 23.5 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung, which gives representative data for the national capital. It was one degree Celsius above normal.
The minimum temperature was 5.5 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung, 5.2 degrees Celsius at Lodhi Road, while Palam, Ridge and Aya Nagar recorded 8.5, 8.5 and 8.0 degrees Celsius, respectively.
