A wall-painting event that began a couple of weeks ago by the children’s club of Ganpati Apartments, a residential society in Sector 9, Dwarka, in collaboration with City Spidey, culminated on Sunday.
It was one of the biggest events held in the society whose outcome was eagerly awaited. The paintings carry environment-friendly messages like “Go Green,” “Clean Ganpati” and “Use solar energy.” Children drew rough sketches with chalk before using colours. The paintings were done in the evenings on weekends.
Children participated in the event under the able guidance of Sangita Kashyap, a resident of the society. Some well-known artists of the sub-city like Ramesh Mumuskhu, Kusum, Kajal and Archana were also present during the event to inspire children and share their insights.
Kashyap said, “This was the most successful event organised by Ganpati children's club. We look forward to many more such events. I would like to thank our managing committee, City Spidey staff, residents and the children of our society.”
Although rainfall hindered the event at one point, it failed to dampen children’s spirits, enthusiasm and creativity. The idea behind the initiative was to showcase painting skills of winners of a drawing competition held during summers this year in the society.
