Women's Day: Google Doodle shares women's firsts from different fields

New Delhi: Google celebrated Women's Day with a special doodle video that highlighted a series of women who showed the world that all genders can shine in any field of the work.

The video shows women excelling in different fields like singing, film making, astronauts, science, sports, writing, adventure, painting, singing etc.

After video, Google also shared a message that said, “Today’s annual International Women’s Day Doodle takes a journey through a series of firsts in women’s history – highlighting female pioneers who have challenged the status quo and paved the way in education, civil rights, science, art, and so much more. (sic)”

In the message they also told, “The video Doodle pays homage to these (s)heroes by depicting the hands that have opened the doors for generations of women. While some firsts achieve something spectacularly new, others are receiving a recognition or right that is long overdue. Suffragists, academics, gold medalists, entrepreneurs and more – today’s Doodle celebrates the women around the world who overcame the obstacles of their time to create a lasting legacy.”

Women's Day was first celebrated in 1911, to recognise Women’s achievement or raise awareness to the world about women’s equality.

Women’s Day marks recognition of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Organisations including NGOs, colleges and schools across the world also celebrate Women’s Day by organising speeches, workshops, lectures etc.
