This year’s Grammy was the 63rd edition of the annual award function. It featured performances by artists like Taylor Swift, BTS, Harry Styles and the event was hosted by Trevor Noah.

Main awards at the Grammy:

Beyonce’s song Black Parade won the award for best R&B performance. ‘Savage Remix’ got the best rap performance and rap song award, and her music video ‘Brown Skin Girl’ got the honour of the best music video. She has set a new record with her 28th win at the Grammys. She is the only artist with most Grammy wins ever in history.

“I have been working my whole life, since I was nine-year-old. I can’t believe this has happened to me. I am so honoured, I'm so excited,” said Beyonce while receiving her record-breaking trophy for best R&B performance.

The four-hour show was in high contrast to the ceremonies that happened in preceding years. Most of the performances were pre-recorded and artists were adorned with face masks matching their outfits. The show was organised with Covid precautions and opened with a thrilling thirst trap performance by Harry Styles, followed by Billie Eilish performing her ballad ‘Everything I Wanted’ and ‘The Steps’. It was performed by HAIM.

Lily Singh at the Grammy Award Ceremony, showed her support for the farmer’s protest in India by wearing a mask with the quote “I stand with farmers” on it. BTS performed their song ‘Dynamite’ while carrying out a synchronised dance for the Grammys.

Four songs by Taylor Swift were nominated for the Grammys, Exile, Folklore, Cardigan and Beautiful Ghosts, out of which Folklore won the award for Album of the Year.
