New Delhi: The pressure in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match sometimes make players lose their temperament. On Wednesday, Virat Kohli was seen getting furious after he got out. While walking back, he hit the boundary rope and a chair with his bat.
The match was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Chennai. RCB skipper Virat Kohli was upset as he got out after scoring 33 runs in 29 balls.
Kohli had built a good partnership of 44 runs with Glenn Maxwell for the third wicket, but at the start of 13th over, Kohli pulled a short delivery from Jason Holder in the deep and Vijay Shankar took an excellent running catch.
In the frustration of getting out early, Kohli hit the chair and boundary rope with his bat in the RCB dug-out.
“Kohli admitted to the Level 1 offense 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding,” said the IPL in a statement.
At last, RCB scored 149 runs and stopped SRH at 143 for nine, and won their second consecutive game of this season. They are on top in the points table.
After the match, Twitterati reacted to the act of Kohli. Have a look:
