New Delhi: Amid the immense surge in Covid-19 cases in Delhi, the state government has passed an order to reschedule the summer vacations of all schools in Delhi, starting from April 20 till June 9. This applies to all government, government-aided, and unaided recognised schools. This step has been taken to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
Earlier, the summer vacations were scheduled from May 11 to June 30. On April 19, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a week-long curfew in the national capital, starting Monday night at 10 pm (April 19) till next Monday at 5 am.
Delhi saw the highest single-day spike on Sunday with 25,462 cases reported. Also, 161 people succumbed to the deadly virus on the same day, taking the total tally to 12,121.
