ABD’s fine knock proves to be difference as RCB win thriller against DC

New Delhi: Another nail-biting match was played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) fought for supremacy in the points table at Ahmedabad. The difference between the two sides was an amazing inning played by an amazing player AB de Villiers.

Undeterred by the slowness of the track, Mr 360 played a superb knock of 75 not out from just 42 deliveries. It helped in taking the team to a respectable total of 171 at the loss of five wickets.

DC skipper Rishabh Pant had won the toss and invited RCB captain Virat Kohli to bat first. The  opening partnership of RCB flopped as Virat Kohli got out on 12 runs off 11 balls and Devdutt Padikkal also followed and marched to the pavillion on 17 runs off 14 balls.

Glenn Maxwell and Rajit Patidar tried to build a partnership in the middle. However, Amit Mishra dismissed Maxwell on 25 runs. It was the impactful innings of De Villiers which helped in setting a competitive total. He had hit 3 sixes in the last over.

Chasing 171, DC lost their crucial wickets of Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, and Steve Smith within 7 overs. At one point DC looked out of the game. But, Hetmyer and Pant took the game deep.

Pant made 58 runs off 48 balls and Hetmyer played an explosive inning of 53 runs in 25 balls. They took the game to the last ball and gave hope to DC fans. But Harshal and Siraj's death overs helped RCB in winning the game by 1 run.

RCB regained the top position in the points table. They had suffered defeat against the CSK in their last game and had slipped to the second position.
