CSK register clinical win against SRH; gain top position in points table

New Delhi: In a clinical display, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and acquired the first position in the points table again. CSK looked in complete control right from the beginning of the match. Their bowling, fielding and batting were just on point. CSK completed the chase of 172 runs in 18.3 overs with seven wickets in hand.

CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis made the opening partnership of 129 runs and helped the team to win the game quite convincingly. Ruturaj showed his class and brought up his second fifty of the season. He made 75 runs in 44 balls. Faf also continued his form and made 56 runs from 38 balls.

Earlier, David Warner won the toss and decided to bat first. But SRH had a bad start as they lost their explosive batsman Jonny Bairstow to his countryman Sam Curran in the middle of the third over. Then Manish Pandey came. He was sitting in the dugout for 2 matches. On Wednesday, team management gave him a chance and he did very well and showed why he is highly rated. He made 61 runs in 46 balls.

However, SRH skipper David Warner struggled and brought up his slow fifty of 57 runs from 55 balls with a strike rate of 103.64. Somehow, after losing two wickets, SRH innings got the much needed momentum due to Kane Williamson. He scored 26 runs in just 10 balls. Kedar Jadhav also played a cameo of 12 runs off 4 balls. They helped the team to put a target of 172 runs.

But it was CSK openers who made things easier and they won the match with 7 wickets in hand. After this, the CSK fans flooded memes on social media. Have a look:
