New Delhi: The coronavirus pandemic doesn’t seem to spare anyone. The whole of India is suffering the wrath of the second wave of Corona. Although many people have been recovering from Covid-19, it can still cause some compilations like organ damage. According to a study done in Italy, 87.4 per cent people who recovered from Covid still sustained at least one symptom even after recovering, especially fatigue and difficulty in breathing.

Thus, it becomes important for those who have recovered from Covid to still remain cautious and take necessary precautions to prevent any further damage to the body, especially the lungs. A daily check on certain things is necessary to track that everything is fine with your body, such assessments include:

  • Check your oxygen saturation on a daily basis. It should be above 94 per cent on room air.
  • Check out whether symptoms like coughing and difficulty in breathing still persist.
  • Look out for a rise in body temperature above 100 F.
  • If you are a diabetic patient, keep a check on your body sugar levels regularly. Covid may affect or alter the blood sugar levels and hence it is important to monitor it regularly and strictly and keep your doctor in loop about the same.
  • If you have hypertension, regularly monitor your blood pressure. If you notice irregularities, tell your doctor about it and keep a regular check on it.
  • After your discharge, get a follow up consultation with your doctor.
  • Get blood tests like CBC, CRT done. Keep doing subsequent follow ups if advised by your doctor.
  • To check the extent of lung recovery after Covid-19, get a CT scan done for the chest after 3 months.

Don’t forget to keep a check on aforementioned things as any carelessness and leniency cause trouble to your body and you won’t even know about it.
