The RWA of East End Apartments, a co-operative group housing society in Mayur Vihar Phase-1 Extension, has set up a water management committee to improve the quality of water supplied in the society.
The initiative was taken after several complaints of water contamination were reported by residents.
The six-member panel, comprising of civil engineers and water management experts, would prepare a system for monitoring the quality of water that the residents get through the bore wells.
The panel includes civil engineers MC Ram and PK Agrawal, water management expert Madhur Mehrotra, managing committee members K Pasupathy and Aparesh Mukhopadhya, and Sawitri Singh, a resident of the society. Aparesh Mukhopadhya would be the convener of the water management committee.
The committee would submit a report to the managing committee. And, if needed, it would also make recommendations regarding the need for water treatment devices.
SB Saraswat, vice president of the society, said, “The panel will collect water samples from different flats from all 29 blocks of the society and will examine them in a laboratory.”
